Foundation Unit
Foundation unit 2 – 5 years
The Foundation Unit at Moorlands comprises of two nursery classes (Squirrels and Foxes), and one reception class (Hedgehogs).
At Moorlands we understand the needs and diversity of young children and work tirelessly to provide each child with an experience to compliment their individual personality.
Staffing levels are maintained to ensure individual children’s needs are constantly met: importantly, all staff are trained Early Years Professionals, with the knowledge and skills needed to enable your child to reach their full potential during their crucial formative years. Whilst celebrating the individuality of each child and within a stimulating and educationally rich learning environment, we encourage our children to show respect for themselves and each other.
To aid social development we encourage the different age groups to interact with each other at various times of the day for example in assembly, at story time and during outdoor play sessions.
Transition though the unit is a seamless and natural progression with all staff being familiar with all children thus enabling them to grow, progress and develop in a happy and secure environment.
