Citizenship & PSHE

At Moorlands School we aim -

  • to develop responsible citizens who realise that in order to live fulfilled, independent, meaningful lives, they should try to:
    • think before acting;
    • determine the consequences of their actions to themselves and to others;
    • resist negative peer pressure;
    • respect rules, authority and the rights of others;
    • work co-operatively;
    • apply self-discipline and perseverance to achieve their goals.
  • to help pupils understand and demonstrate values such as honesty, generosity, kindness, tolerance, respect, courage and truthfulness.
  • to help pupils to understand that everyone has an equal right to freedom and justice.
  • to build self esteem by encouraging pupils to be positive, about themselves and about others.
  • to emphasise the importance of responsibility in their lives.
  • to help pupils to understand that everyone has a right to their own beliefs, and, that with belief comes a responsibility towards others.
