Citizenship & PSHE
At Moorlands School we aim -
- to develop responsible citizens who realise that in order to live fulfilled, independent, meaningful lives, they should try to:
- think before acting;
- determine the consequences of their actions to themselves and to others;
- resist negative peer pressure;
- respect rules, authority and the rights of others;
- work co-operatively;
- apply self-discipline and perseverance to achieve their goals.
- to help pupils understand and demonstrate values such as honesty, generosity, kindness, tolerance, respect, courage and truthfulness.
- to help pupils to understand that everyone has an equal right to freedom and justice.
- to build self esteem by encouraging pupils to be positive, about themselves and about others.
- to emphasise the importance of responsibility in their lives.
- to help pupils to understand that everyone has a right to their own beliefs, and, that with belief comes a responsibility towards others.
