Geography

Geography at Moorlands School provokes and answers questions about the natural and human worlds, using different perspectives. The pupils develop a knowledge of places and environments throughout the world encountering different societies and cultures. The programme of study is organised into four areas of learning encompassing geographical enquiry and skills, knowledge and understanding of places, patterns and processes as well as environmental change and sustainable development. Children at KS1 and KS2 are taught on a topic basis through the study of two localities, one in the UK and one in a less economically developed country, and the themes of water, settlement and environmental issues. At KS3 pupils follow the relevant Common Entrance Syllabus.
