The decision to send my son to Moorlands was taken with great trepidation since I have expected him to be educated at the local state primary school. Unfortunately after two disastrous years in the latter, his progress was nil despite him being termed ‘very bright’. Moorlands was the only prep school I visited which gave me the confidence to take that decision and it is one which I have never regretted.
Within weeks of joining the school it became evident that my son had a mathematical talent, hitherto unknown. He was treated as an individual with specific talents encouraged and developed and his shortcomings addressed by a patient and dedicated staff. We became part of the Moorlands ‘family’ and benefited greatly over the years from the care and support always on offer. As a result my son was successful in both entrance exams at senior schools, and is now a pupil at Leeds Grammar School. We both have a lot for which to thank Moorlands

Moorlands School – A Hidden Gem
Tucked away at the back of the Foxhills off Weetwood Lane is Moorlands, a gem of a school. Both of my sons Michael and Richard entered Moorlands at the age of five and four respectively and progressed through the school from Kindergarten to Pre-Prep and then Main School.
They are both now at Senior School (Leeds Grammar School) and have been admirably equipped and prepared for this stage of their education following their time at Moorlands. They both thoroughly enjoyed their stay at the School making lots of friends and benefiting immensely from the excellent teaching and first class pastoral care.
I am personally delighted with how the boys developed whilst at Moorlands and would have no hesitation in recommending the school to any prospective parents. Both Michael and Richard look back on their time at Moorlands with fond memories.
